AAR’s Amsterdam Component Repair Operation Accredited by Netherlands Military
First nongovernment firm to receive this distinction
AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands — AAR (NYSE: AIR) announced today that its European component repair business, AAR Aircraft Component Services - Amsterdam, has been accredited by the Military Aviation Authority of the Netherlands (MAA-NLD) to perform component repairs in support of the Netherlands Ministry of Defense.
AAR Aircraft Component Services - Amsterdam is the first private-sector organization to be MAA-NLD-certified for maintenance, a status previously held only by government and defense agencies and service providers.
“We are honored by the confidence the Netherlands military has shown in our company by granting this accreditation,” said Mat van Vugt, General Manager of AAR Aircraft Component Services - Amsterdam. “Our team remains focused on providing high-value repair services to help the Netherlands Ministry of Defense maintain their strong levels of efficiency and aircraft availability.”
The accreditation and its related authorizations enable AAR to repair components for F-16 fighter jets and independently perform the quality assurance process prior to releasing the parts to the Ministry of Defense.
The accreditation is based upon the civil EASA Part 145 regulation, combined with defense-specific requirements. To receive this status, AAR Aircraft Component Services - Amsterdam worked closely with the MAA and government quality assurance representatives to demonstrate its ability to support work as specified on the Royal Netherlands Air Force Capability List.
Officials from the Netherlands MAA presented AAR with a certificate of accreditation during a ceremony at the AAR Aircraft Component Services facilities in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands. AAR recently announced that its Aircraft Component Services - Amsterdam business entered a Partnering Agreement with the Netherlands Ministry of Defense’s Logistics Centre Woensdrecht (LCW) that allows the business to provide new and expanded component repair services using equipment at LCW facilities.
