AAR Announces Enhanced Fuel Systems Testing Capabilities
Newly installed system replicates conditions, complexities surrounding next-generation aircraft
GARDEN CITY, New York – AAR (NYSE: AIR) announces it now uses a Bauer Inc. Fuel Component Test System capable of evaluating a wider range of commercial and military fuel products. The new technology allows the facility to replicate engine fuel demands and flow rates specified in testing requirements for a variety of fuel flow instruments installed in current and next-generation aircraft engines and fleets.
The dynamic, modular design of the test system lends itself to components that integrate with a wide variety of engine systems, from smaller regional power plants up to and including the GE90 engine by General Electric installed on the Boeing 777 series of aircraft. The technology also ensures AAR can support the next generation of 787s, A350s and other platforms.
The new fuel system testing capability is part of a broad range of component repair, overhaul and exchange services offered by AAR through its Aircraft Component Services facilities in New York and Amsterdam.
“The system is user-friendly and dynamic,” said Pastor Lopez, Vice President, Aircraft Components and Landing Gear Services. “In fact, one of our customers was able to walk through a component test series alongside an AAR engineer with full understanding of what was happening inside the test bench. We’re excited about the services we can offer with this leading-edge system from Bauer.”
AAR offers a wide variety of aviation services that include aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul, and supply chain capabilities for commercial airlines, defense agencies and OEMs. AAR Aircraft Component Services has been recognized for excellence by Boeing and as an “Outstanding Source of Repair” by NATO for its component repair services.
