Industry Leader AAR Announces Telair’s 200th Airbus Cargo System Delivery
Deliveries and increased production position business for growth
WOOD DALE, ILLINOIS — AAR (NYSE: AIR) announced that its Telair cargo systems business has reached a major milestone with the delivery of its 200th Cargo Loading System (CLS) to Airbus. The milestone denotes Telair’s position as the supplier of choice for Airbus A330/A340 lower deck cargo loading systems.
Telair’s advanced CLS is the standard lower deck system for A330/A340-200/300 and A330-200F freighters. Since production started in May 2008, Telair has increased delivery from two-to-three cargo systems per month to six-to-seven systems per month and expects to deliver 10 systems per month by 2014 to keep pace with requirements for anticipated aircraft orders
“As we celebrate this important milestone with Airbus, we are very proud of the reliability of the system and of our team’s execution and increasing production rates,” said Axel Hauner, President of Telair International, Miesbach, Germany. “We are well positioned to grow the business and looking forward to delivering our next 200 systems even more quickly and efficiently.”
Telair provides Airbus with on-site cargo systems engineering and installation support at its regional design and engineering facilities throughout Europe, North America, India and China.
The milestone follows AAR’s recent rankings as Parts Supplier of the Year, one of the top five providers of aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) in the world and the Best MRO in the Americas in independent surveys of customers and industry professionals.
