AAR Names Michael S. Cohen Vice President of Operations and Engineering
WOOD DALE, Ill., /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AAR (NYSE: AIR) today named Michael "Mickey" Cohen as vice president of operations and engineering effective Nov. 17.
Cohen, who has more than 29 years of experience in the commercial aviation and aerospace industry, will be responsible for the leadership, direction and performance of key operating elements of AAR businesses. He will report to David P. Storch, AAR's president and chief executive officer (CEO).
"To achieve our goal of improving profitability, we must continue to focus on our operational efficiency and capitalize on emerging technologies. Mickey will be a key asset to help us get there," Storch said. "Mickey's a great addition to AAR because he understands our industry and will help us view the business from our customers' perspective."
Prior to joining AAR, Cohen was the senior vice president of maintenance and engineering for Alaska Airlines. His other leadership posts have included serving as senior vice president of operations at Aloha Airlines, vice president of line maintenance for US Airways, vice president of operations for US Airways Airmotive, vice president of technical services for Dalfort Aviation and directing key maintenance, engineering and quality assurance divisions while with Pacific Southwest Airlines. Cohen began his career in the aerospace industry with Rockwell International and the Northrup Corporation.
Cohen received a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from the Aerospace Institute of Chicago and attended the Northrup University Law School. In addition to an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, he also holds a commercial pilot's certificate with instrument rating and a flight instructor's certificate.

AAR signs new engine parts supply agreement with Chromalloy
Wood Dale, Illinois — AAR CORP. (NYSE: AIR), a leading provider of aviation services to commercial and government operators, MROs, and OEMs, is pleased to announce the signing of a multi-year engine parts supply agreement to distribute Chromalloy’s Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) parts for the CF6-80C2 engine high pressure turbine (HPT) Stage 1 and Stage 2 turbine blades. Under the agreement, AAR will be the exclusive distributor of these two PMA blades to the global aftermarket with limited account coverage exclusions, due to Chromalloy’s pre-existing customer agreements.
